Refund Policy

1. Overview

KongsiPay is a peer-to-peer expense management and money transfer platform. All payments are processed through FPX, a trusted third-party payment gateway regulated in Malaysia. We take transaction integrity seriously and have put measures in place to protect our users.

2. User Responsibility at Checkout

Before confirming any payment, users are required to carefully verify all recipient details on the checkout page — including the recipient's name, account details, and transfer amount.

As an additional safeguard, the recipient's display name shown on the FPX checkout page is the final and authoritative verification step. The FPX gateway independently displays the registered account holder's name — this is outside KongsiPay's control and cannot be manipulated. Even if our system were to have a display bug, FPX's checkout page provides the ground truth before money leaves your account.

Transfers confirmed with incorrect details due to user error are non-refundable.

3. Processing Fee for User Errors

If a transfer is initiated based on a user's own mistake (e.g. wrong amount, wrong recipient selected), a processing fee of RM 5.00 will be charged for any refund or reversal attempt. This fee covers the administrative and gateway costs incurred.

4. Recipient Non-Cooperation

KongsiPay acts as a platform facilitator. Once a transfer has been successfully processed and received by the recipient, the return of funds is entirely dependent on the recipient's cooperation. If the recipient refuses to return the funds, KongsiPay is unable to reverse or recover the payment on your behalf, as the funds are no longer within our system.

We strongly encourage users to only transact with people they know and trust.

5. How to Report an Issue

To file a report, please contact our support team and include:

  • Your registered email address
  • A screenshot clearly showing the issue
  • The date and approximate time of the transaction
  • A brief description of what happened

Our team will review your report and respond within 3–5 business days.

6. No Guarantee of Third-Party Actions

KongsiPay is not liable for delays, failures, or errors caused by FPX or any other third-party service provider. However, payments processed through FPX carry an inherent verification layer that significantly reduces the risk of misdirected funds.
